Forklifts are often an essential tool for completing some tasks in factories. But they do come with their own risks. So why are forklifts so dangerous?

They are extremely heavy, weighing 9,000 pounds or more. This is a lot more than your average car. So one of these vehicles could cause some serious damage to you, colleagues or the factory.
Forklifts are much harder to stop, so you should never walk in front of one. They only have one set of breaks on their front wheels which makes their stopping time longer.
Finally, when a forklift is loaded up this is to the front. This blocks the view of the driver so they won’t be able to see as clearly. Be cautious when a forklift is driving near you.

Take all of these dangers into consideration when working with or around forklifts. Remember these and try to be as safe as possible.
